The Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 USM macro is a high performance lens with next to perfect resolution figures across the image frame which is only limited by diffraction effects. Lateral CAs as well as distortions are not field relevant.

I have to admit, when the Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM Lens was announced, I was less than enthusiastic over a new short focal length macro lens compatible only with the EF-S lens mount Digital SLRs. But now that I've had a chance to use it, I think the Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro USM Lens is a very nice lens.

I wait to be convinced about Canon’s commitment to the EF-S mount and the restricted number of cameras that it will fit. However, if you own one of them and do not plan to upgrade to full frame in the future then this is a capable and versatile lens.
